One of the film mistakes in "Fantastic Beasts" is a continuity error involving Newt Scamander's briefcase. In one scene, the briefcase has a distinct pattern on it, but in a later scene, the pattern is different. Additionally, there is a mistake involving the timeline of events in the film. The film is set in 1926, but a poster for a circus act featuring a hippogriff can be seen, even though hippogriffs were not discovered until the 18th century in the wizarding world. These mistakes may have been overlooked by the filmmakers or simply missed during the editing process. **
