Many rappers call themselves rockstars because they want to convey a sense of rebellion, nonconformity, and larger-than-life persona that is often associated with rockstars. By adopting the title of rockstar, rappers are aligning themselves with a certain level of fame, extravagance, and a "bad boy" image that is often associated with rock music. Additionally, the term "rockstar" has become synonymous with being at the top of one's game and living a lavish lifestyle, which many rappers aspire to achieve and portray in their music and public persona. **

Rockstars destroy their guitars after a concert as a form of performance art and to create a memorable and dramatic moment for their fans. It is also a way for them to release pent-up energy and emotions from the high-energy performance. While rockstars were known for their lavish tour riders, extravagant accommodations, and partying, punk bands were more focused on the music and the DIY ethos. Punk bands often toured in vans, stayed in cheap motels or crashed on fans' couches, and were more likely to engage with their fans on a personal level. They also often played smaller, more intimate venues, and their tours were more about connecting with their audience and spreading their message rather than living a glamorous lifestyle. **
